Coucou · Matcha, but louder

About us

Built between long days, for long days.

Coucou started with one small frustration: matcha drinks that taste like a faint green tint. Pale, quiet, forgettable.

So we went looking for the loudest matcha we could find. Deep green, bold, and strong enough to stand out in whatever you pour it into, so you actually taste it.

How we choose

We blind-taste matcha from farms in Japan and beyond. Numbered cups, no labels, no favorites. Every sample is scored on color, smell, straight taste, mixed taste, texture, mixability and one simple question: would we drink it every day?

Only the darkest, boldest one earns the tin.

What goes in the tin

  • Ceremonial grade. First-harvest leaves, shade grown and stone ground.
  • Nothing added. Just pure matcha green tea powder, naturally gluten free.
  • Loud in anything. Our favorite is cold coconut water, but it's just as good over milk or whisked straight.

Why "Coucou"?

Coucou is the French way of saying "hey, it's me." Casual, a little playful, and impossible to say quietly. That's the energy we wanted in a tin.

So: coucou. We're glad you're here.
